   Groundwater Stewardship

To understand the stewardship of groundwater, a knowledge of the mechanics of water travelling through, on and under the surface is needed. Aquifers are a key to that understanding.

Aquifers are soil or rock formations containing enough saturated permeable material to produce significant amounts of water to wells and springs.

The Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection (MWLAP) has mapped many aquifers in B.C. For further information about wells and aquifers in B.C., click here.
