42nd ANNUAL BCGWA 2012 CONVENTION, TRADESHOW AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

On behalf of the B.C. Ground Water Association, you are invited to attend our upcoming conference and trade show at the Kamloops Convention Centre, 1250 Rogers Way, Kamloops, B. C. from March 26th – 30th, 2012, with workshops being held on March 26th and 27th and the morning of the 28th. The Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday, March 30th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. The convention is the most important annual event for all people working in the drilling and ground water related fields.

Workshops

Workshop A – Level 1 & 2 Pump Installers: Monday & Tuesday, March 26th & 27th. This two-day Work Shop will be for Level 1 & 2 Pump Installers in preparation for challenging the Canadian Ground Water exam as a pre-requisite for Provincial Registration as a Qualified Well Pump Installer. An opportunity to write the CGWA exam will be provided at the Convention. If you wish to participate in this workshop please contact the BCGWA office, as pre-registration is required. If you wish to challenge the CGWA exam, you must apply to them and be approved to write.

Workshop B – Tuesday, March 27th. Understanding and Addressing Well Performance and Maintenance Issues – Chris Allen/Jim Bailey (Shannon & Wilson Inc.), Thom Hanna (Johnson Screens), Remi Allard (Western Water Associates)

Workshop C – Tuesday, March 27th. Pump Curves, NPSH, Infinity Laws, Motor and Controls –
Steve Ulrich & Craig Dickson (Franklin Electric)

Workshop D – Wednesday, March 28th. Rotary and Auger Drilling Risk Assessment & Regulations (WCB) – Ian Rood (UBSafe Inc.)

Convention and Trade Show

The convention will start on Tuesday evening with a meet and greet and registration. Information sessions will start on Wednesday morning, with the Trade Show opening in the afternoon. Complimentary drinks, a light dinner and entertainment, will be provided in the Trade Show area where we are expecting 30 booths. Thursday morning will start off with a continental breakfast.

The Trade show will remain open until noon, followed by educational seminars in the afternoon, and an evening banquet with entertainment. Please join us.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. A members Motion form was mailed out with your December Newsletter. If you have a valid issue that should be addressed at the AGM please fax or mail it back to the office.

We have reserved the ballroom for display booths, which will allow for 30 booths. 

You must be a member of the CGWA in order to reserve a booth.  The price includes:

1. 1 –10’ x 8’ pipe and drape booth space
2. 1 – 6’ skirted table
3. 2 - chairs
4. 1 – 120v 750 watt electrical outlet
5. registration fee for one person to the convention (does not include workshops or Thursday Banquet)

Wednesday evening in the trade show area will be a fun evening with a wine/beer reception, light dinner and entertainment.  The Trade Show hours are as follows:

- Wednesday, March 28th   7:00 am to 11:00 am        Move in/set up
- Wednesday, March 28th   1:00 pm to   5:00 pm        Trade Show open
- Wednesday, March 28th   6:00 pm to 10:00 pm        Trade Show re-opens
- Thursday, March 29th       8:00 am to   9:00 am        Continental breakfast
- Thursday, March 29th       9:00 am to 12:00 pm        Trade show open
- Thursday, March 29th       1:00 pm to   4:00 pm        Tear down/Move out

MANUFACTURERS AND SUPPLIERS: These booths will be available on a first come first serve basis at a cost of $705.00 plus HST and will include 1 full registration.
