We are pleased to announce that the B. C. Ground Water Association
will be holding their 2008 Convention at the
Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort and Conference Centre, 1310 Water Street, Kelowna, B. C.

BCGWA Room Rate $129.00 per night and reservations should be made by February 3rd, 2008.

March 5th-7th, 2008 with extra workshops being held on March 3rd-4th. 

The BCGWA now represents the Groundwater, the Geotechnical and Environmental and the Geo-Exchange drilling industries.

2008 Schedule

There will be a Manufacturers and Suppliers Trade Show for this convention.  We have reserved the ballroom for display booths, which will allow for 29 booths.  These booths will be available on a first come first serve basis at a cost of  $705.00 plus GST and will include 1 full registration.  You must be a member of the CGWA in order to reserve a booth.  The price includes:

  1. 1 – 10’ x 8’ pipe and drape booth space
  2. 1 – 6’ table
  3. 2 - chairs
  4. 1 – 750 watt electrical outlet
  5. registration fee for one person to the convention (does not include workshops or Thursday Banquet & Speaker)

Wednesday evening in the trade show area will be a fun evening with a wine/beer reception, light dinner and entertainment.  The Trade Show hours are as follows:

- Wednesday, March 5th                       1:00 pm to   5:00 pm                        Trade Show opens
- Wednesday, March 5th                       6:00 pm to 10:00 pm                        Trade Show re-opens

We always welcome donations to help in the success of our convention. If you would like to make a donation to offset our costs, please forward a cheque to the office.  These donations go towards the welcome reception, coffee breaks, continental breakfast, technical sessions, M&S night and entertainment.  Your name will be added to the sponsorship board. Keynote Speaker

Maude Barlow

Maude Barlow is the National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, Canada’s largest public advocacy organization, and the founder of the Blue Planet Project working internationally for the right to water. She serves on the boards of the International Forum on Globalization and Food and Water Watch and is a Councillor with the Hamburg-based World Future Council. Maude is the recipient of six honorary doctorates as well as the 2005 Right Livelihood Award (known as the “Alternative Nobel”) and the best selling author or co-author of 16 books. Her latest are Too Close For Comfort, Canada’s Future Within Fortress North America and Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water
