The 35th B.C. Ground Water Association Convention

On behalf of the B.C. Ground Water Association's Executive and Directors, I invite you to attend our upcoming conference at the Penticton Lakeside Resort from Thursday, March 3rd to Saturday, March 5th.

The Convention is an important event for all members and non-members of B. C. This year there will be a lot of information pertaining to the new regulations, upcoming educational sessions and training workshops. It is an important meeting that everyone needs to attend.

We are starting our convention on Thursday morning with a one-day seminar on Well Design and Rehabilitation. Dr. John H. Schieders and Mr. Thom Hanna will be reviewing the principles of proper water well design and the importance of taking a scientific, chemistry based approach. See attached flier for details and prices.

Thursday evening will be a chance for everyone to meet with the Manufacturers & Suppliers in an informal setting. There will be some tabletop displays and a silent auction and some draws taking place. If you would like to donate to the silent auction please let the office know and bring your item to the convention. Complimentary wine and beer will be served from 5:00 to 6:00 and a light dinner will be served at 6:00. A no host bar will be offered until 10:00.

Friday will start off with an opening address from WLAP Minister Bill Barisoff and then the regular meetings will begin. Check the enclosed schedule for the speaker timetable. We will end the day with our Banquet and Entertainment.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday morning, March 5, 2005 from 9:30 to 12:00. This meeting is important and will directly effect how we do business in the future! A member's Motion Form was mailed out with your December Newsletter. If you have a valid issue that should be addressed at the AGM please fax or mail it to the office.

CGWA exams will follow from 1:00 to 4:00. If you are interested in writing the Driller or Pump Installers Exam, please call the BCGWA office and the forms and information needed will be mailed to you.
